What a privilege it is to join Fountain Valley School District and Courreges Elementary School this year!
In Spring 2016 my husband and I moved our family back to Huntington Beach after spending three years living in Stamford, Connecticut. While on the East Coast we became parents of a Labradoodle named Wednesday and a baby girl named Macy Lou. To say we are thrilled to be back on the West Cost is an understatement! It was quite the homecoming since we were both born and raised in Orange County and all of our family still resides here.
While I am new to this district, this school, and the 3rd grade, I am not new to the teaching profession. Since 2009 I have spent the majority of my career teaching 5th grade in both California and Connecticut. I received my Bachelors Degree and Teaching Credential from California State University, Long Beach and my Masters in Education from California State University, Fullerton.
For some, choosing a career is difficult. For others, like myself, the choice is natural and obvious. Prior to entering college I knew I wanted to be an educator of children. This choice can be traced back to my days in fourth grade when I was fortunate enough to be placed in Ms. Miller’s classroom. Fresh energy, caring demeanor, and high academic expectations were all things that attracted me to her personality and her profession. Since becoming an educator, I strive to provide my students with the same experience that Ms. Miller provided me.
