Students utilized an array of creative everyday materials—from parachutes and foam buffers to custom cardboard cradles—to cushion their cargo against gravity and impact forces. The climax of the experiment brought classes together outside as science teachers ascended to the school roof to launch each contraption onto the concrete below. The interactive activity offered a hands-on way for students to explore concepts of momentum, force, and structural design while celebrating a memorable 8th-grade tradition.
